Mystic Seaport Express

The Mystic Seaport Museum, located in Mystic, CT, was founded in 1929 and is the nation’s premier maritime museum. Situated along the Mystic River, the museum sought to introduce a new river tour experience, the Mystic Seaport Express. This service would transport visitors from multiple locations along the river, ultimately bringing them back to the Mystic Seaport Museum, where they could explore its historic ships and exhibits.

With the launch of this new offering came the need for a distinctive logo. Adhering to the museum’s established brand guidelines, I designed a logo that aligned with their visual identity. Having previously created logos for the Mystic Bridge Centennial, which the museum admired, I ensured this new design had a complementary aesthetic. The boat featured in the logo was carefully illustrated to accurately represent the vessel used for the tours, while the museum’s brand fonts and colors were seamlessly incorporated.

In addition to the logo, I also designed signage and informational cards to promote the Mystic Seaport Express, providing clear details on the service and how visitors could book their own river tour.
